In every home, there’s one piece that holds a story. For me, it was a pillow hand-made by my grandmother fifty years ago.

Both of my grandmothers were masters of needlework. One created soft, romantic hand-stitched florals, the other practiced the precise rhythm of cross-stitch embroidery. As a child, I watched them work for hours, their hands weaving flowers, leaves, and borders out of colored threads. Every stitch was a small piece of love — quiet, patient, and timeless.
Years later, after both had passed away, I began searching for any trace of their craft. I asked every relative, hoping to find even one piece of their embroidery. What I found was a single pillow — faded, worn, and far too fragile to use. But to me, it was priceless.
So, I framed it behind glass. It became a memory, a symbol of where I came from — and a promise to myself never to let this kind of beauty disappear.
As time passed, I watched my own sons — now grown — argue playfully over who would inherit that framed pillow. And in that moment, I had a thought that changed everything:
What if I could multiply it? What if I could make the irreplaceable… shareable?
That was the beginning of Mediterraluxe.
Using modern technology, I recreated that beloved motif — preserving every delicate petal, every imperfect thread — and transformed it into printed fabric art. The first design I ever made wasn’t meant for sale; it was an experiment in preservation. But when I held the finished pillow in my hands, I saw something I never expected: the past and present living together in perfect harmony.
That’s when I realized — printed embroidery isn’t imitation. It’s continuation.
Today, I design heritage-inspired pillow covers that honor the handwork of centuries past — from 18th-century European embroidery to Mediterranean needle arts. Each design is crafted to look and feel timeless, yet made to suit modern homes and daily life — machine-washable, soft, and meant to be lived with.
Through Mediterraluxe, I share my family’s story — but also the stories of countless women who stitched beauty into being. My hope is that every pillow we create carries a little of that love forward: from their hands, through mine, and into your home.
